










Ex Cinema Ariston
The building is located in the historic centre of Pisa, in Filippo turati Street, in between the left bank of Arno river and the central station, nearby Vittorio Emanuele II Square.
The unit hosted till the beginning of twenty-first Century the Ariston cinema, which has been a for long period of time the District main movie theatre.
Created by the architect Bruni Sacchi in the fifties of the last Century, the ex Cinema Ariston has been the first cinema complex to be renovated to host two screening rooms. Affected by the crisis, the 19th of April 2007 it was permanently closed.
The building becomes extremely relevant in the recovery plan embraced by Pisa’s Council which aims to the urban regeneration of the district. The plan involves the realization of apartments and parking lots with a significant reduction of the constructed volumetry, taking into account the visual perception’s improvement, the relation’s built-up area and the recovery and improvement of green areas.
